National Tick Awareness Month

March is National Tick Awareness Month!
Ticks are active year long in Nova Scotia so we strongly suggest that we treat all year . We have a variety of products to help in the prevention and we also recommend daily tick checks and Lyme vaccines for your dogs.
Ticks can carry a number of diseases and we also have 4DX tests which can be done here in our hospital which test for three diseases spread by ticks as well as heartworm.

Also view the calendar that shows all the days in 2025 that the temperature was 4 degrees Celcius or higher, which is when ticks can be active.
